The open mill is the most fundamental and core preprocessing mixing equipment in the rubber processing industry. It is mainly used for the plasticating, mixing, warm-up milling, re-milling, sheeting and discharging processes of natural rubber, synthetic rubber, silicone rubber, thermoplastic elastomers and some plastic materials. The machine adopts a pair of horizontally parallel, counter-rotating high-precision water-cooled rolls. Powerful shearing, compression, stretching and rolling effects generated in the roll gap gradually soften the raw rubber and break molecular chains to complete plasticating. Meanwhile, additives such as carbon black, vulcanizing agents and anti-aging agents are evenly infiltrated, dispersed and blended to finally obtain qualified rubber compound with uniform performance and dense texture.

This machine adopts a traditional open structure with fully visible operation. Operators can directly observe the conditions of rubber wrapping on rolls, powder absorption and mixing, so as to adjust the process at any time. It is suitable for small-batch production with multiple formulas and varieties. The rolls are made of high-quality alloy chilled cast iron, subjected to precision grinding and heat treatment. They feature high surface hardness, good wear and corrosion resistance and uniform heat conduction. Water cooling or oil temperature control is supported to precisely manage the mixing temperature and prevent scorching and aging of rubber compound.

The equipment is equipped with adjustable roll gap, adjustable speed ratio and forward/reverse rotation functions. The shearing intensity and mixing time can be flexibly adjusted according to material hardness and technological requirements. The complete machine has a rigid frame, low operating vibration and low noise. The transmission system is stable, durable and not easy to slip. The machine is standardly fitted with multiple safety mechanisms including emergency brake, safety hand guard and limit protection, complying with industrial safety standards and greatly reducing operational risks.
